Announcing #PL4U – The Physical Literacy for You Network by NVRC!

The North Vancouver Recreation Commission is pleased to announce the launch of the Physical Literacy For You (PL4U) network  

PL4U is a network of organizations dedicated to the promotion of physical literacy in North Vancouver established by North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC).  Partners include: School District 44, North Vancouver District Parent Advisory Committee, Vancouver Coastal Health, Capilano University, North Vancouver Sport Council and Squamish Nation.  PL4U, via NVRC, is a proud 2016 recipient of an RBC Learn To Play grant. The RBC Learn to Play Project provides grants to local organizations and community groups that are building the physical literacy of Canada’s kids and youth.  Between September and November 2017, PL4U will be offering free and low cost community workshops for parents, educators, coaches, reacreation instructors and health practitioners.

 PL4U presents the first ever Physcial Literacy Summit on the North Shore.  

Physical literacy is all about connecting healthy child development to sport, recreation and physical activity.  Developing physical literacy is the first step to engaging in a healthy, active lifestyle. Check out our exciting line-up of speakers and workshops!  We have a five conference streams to choose from: Active Start (early years), FUNdamentals (schoolage stage 1), Learn to Train & Train to Train (schoolage stage 2 & 3),  Program Design and Hot Topics.
