ProMOTION Plus Staff Announcement
Vancouver, BC – March, 2017 – ProMOTION Plus: Girls and Women in Sport and Physical Activity Society is proud to announce their new office team members. Alison Hart will assume the responsibility of Administrative Manager and Erica Marrello will be responsible for Social Marketing and Communications effective immediately.
Alison was previously involved with ProMOTION Plus in the early years organizing the Women in Sport and Recreation (WISRAN) Networking breakfast events. At the time, she was with the Provincial Sport Organization for Cross Country Skiing. She started a Women’s Cross Country Learn-to-Ski program at Cypress Mountain and was a Sessional Lecturer with UBC’s Physical Education program. She is an original member of the False Creek Women’s Dragon Boat team that successfully lobbied for a Women’s Division in the World Championships. Her career has been focused in sport and corporate marketing particularly the delivery of road safety and stakeholder engagement programs for ICBC. Her ICBC tenure included a successful corporate program during the 2010 Winter Olympics Games.
“Her background in sport, corporate marketing, education, stakeholder engagement and community involvement will make her a great addition to ProMOTION Plus” says Chair, Kristina MacDonald. “Alison has a passion for women and girls in sport and we look forward to her working with the Board to identify new opportunities for ProMOTION Plus.”
Erica Marrello is a graduate of Langara College with diplomas in Business Management and Marketing Management. She initiated her own event management business in 2015 (fullcircleproductions.ca) and was instrumental in the success of the 2016 ProMOTION Plus In Her Footsteps event. Her other activities include organizing events in various sectors, including charity events. She has been active and involved in sports her whole life including dance, soccer and dodgeball in both, the Algarve, Portugal and Vancouver, BC. Her passions are event management and social media and in her words, she is “ready to take on ProMOTION Plus’ online presence to advocate for women in sport, raise awareness, and engage with our community”.
